Babak Safarnejad & Shayan Noghrehsaz Pioneering Iranian harmonica artist Babak Safarnejad and jazz pianist Shayan Noghrehsaz perform at the 23rd Gümüşlük Music Festival. Drawing on Persian modal music, Anatolian folk melodies, and contemporary jazz, the duo presents a program shaped by improvisation, memory, and shared musical heritage. Safarnejad—who released the first official harmonica album in Iran—and Noghrehsaz—known for his collaborations with figures like Hafez Modirzadeh—reimagine traditional themes within an intimate chamber music setting. Rather than preserving tradition as a fixed form, the duo explores it as a living language, inviting listeners into a musical conversation where familiar melodies are transformed into new, evolving sonic landscapes.
