About

Sing Democracy 250 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a powerful message of hope for democracy through music. Featuring two newly commissioned works, "Redeem the Dream" by Brandon A. Boyd and "US" by Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, the program reflects on America's history, the responsibilities of citizenship, and the role each of us plays in renewing democracy. Following concerts in Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and New York, along with a community-based initiative activating 150+ choirs nationwide, the Washington concert features the Together In Hope Choir, Congressional Chorus, National Children's Chorus - Washington Chapter, and Main Line Symphony Orchestra, led by G. Phillip Shoultz, III, with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves. Sing Democracy 250 is presented in partnership with the Charles F. Kettering Foundation and supported by the Smithsonian's "Our Shared Future: 250" initiative. For ASL, please contact DAR at 202-879-3303 or chall@dar.org
